What We Test On Plastic Caps

Testing covers oil caps, spout caps, tamper-evident caps, and other custom closures—not generic visual checks alone.

Seal and leak testing is the most important step. After the cap is fitted to a bottle neck or test fixture, we check for air leakage, liquid leakage, and poor sealing. In addition, dimensional, appearance, assembly, material/color, and drop/transport checks support buyer specifications for lubricant and packaging closures.

Test Scope

Six Cap Testing Categories

  1. Dimensional Inspection

    Check diameter, height, thread, liner/plug, and sealing face against the drawing. This is critical for oil caps, spout caps, and tamper-evident closures.

  2. Appearance Inspection

    Screen for black spots, flash, deformation, color difference, scratches, short shot (缺料), and sink marks from injection molding.

  3. Assembly Inspection

    For combo caps—spout caps, tamper-evident caps, caps with liners, or caps with gaskets—verify that assembly is fully seated and correct.

  4. Drop & Transport Simulation

    Simulate packaging and shipping to check whether caps crack, deform, or come apart during handling and transport.

  5. Material & Color Check

    Confirm the resin grade is correct and that color matches the customer-approved sample.

  6. Seal & Leak Testing (Most Critical)

    After fitting the cap to a bottle neck or test fixture, verify there is no air leak, liquid leak, or poor sealing. This is the primary pass/fail gate for closure programs.

What is the most important cap test at FANXUN?

Seal and leak testing. After the cap is fitted to a bottle neck or test fixture, we check for air leakage, liquid leakage, and poor sealing. Other checks support fit and appearance, but seal performance is the primary gate.

Do you check dimensions and appearance as well?

Yes. Dimensional inspection covers diameter, height, thread, liner/plug, and sealing face against the drawing—especially important for oil caps, spout caps, and tamper-evident caps. Appearance screening covers black spots, flash, deformation, color difference, scratches, short shot, and sink marks.

How do you test combo caps and shipping risk?

For spout, tamper-evident, liner, and gasket assemblies, we verify assembly seating. Drop and transport simulation then checks whether caps crack, deform, or come apart during packaging and shipping.

What should I share for a testing or production quote?

Share the drawing or sample, bottle neck type, application (for example lubricant), and any required seal/leak or dimensional tolerances. Then our team will confirm the QC and testing path with Quality Control.
